Services - Voicemail Setup

Step One

The first step in setting up your Voice Mail is to set up your password and record your outgoing message.

Your outgoing message is what you want the caller to hear when your Voice Mail answers. Your password protects your Voice Mail so that only you (or whoever you give your password to) can retrieve messages.

1. Lift your handset and dial:

865-9100 for Mill Center
869-9100 for Oneida
822-9100 for Pulaski/Krakow

2. After Voice Mail answers, dial 1234*

3. At this time, the Voice Mail person will tell you how to set up your password and outgoing message. Simply follow the instructions and your Voice Mail is set up.

4. After the Voice Mail plays back your message and password, it will continue to tell you about the Voice Mail system. You may listen or you may hang up at this time.

Step Two

The second step in setting up your Voice Mail is to activate Call Forwarding features.

Call Forward - No Answer will forward your calls to Voice Mail after a designated number of rings (which you set up).

To Activate Call Forward - No Answer

1. Lift handset.

2. Press *92, then press the number of rings (minimum of two) you want before the call is transferred to Voice Mail.

3. DO NOT HANG-UP. Now dial 865-9100 for Mill Center
869-9100 for Oneida
822-9100 for Pulaski/Krakow

4. When the voice mail system answers, hang up. Your calls are now forwarded.

To Deactivate Call Forward - No Answer

1. Lift handset.

2. Press *93, listen for the confirmation tone and then hang up.

Call Forward - Busy is an option feature which will forward your calls to your Voice Mail if your phone is busy. This is not needed if you have call waiting.

To Activate Call Forward - Busy

1. Lift handset.

2. Press *90

3. Dial 865-9100 for Mill Center
869-9100 for Oneida
822-9100 for Pulaski/Krakow

4. When the Voice Mail system answers hang up. Your calls are now forwarded.

To Deactivate Call Forward - Busy

1. Lift handset and press *91, listen for the confirmation tone and then hang up.

Step Three

After you have set up your Voice Mail, you need to learn how to retrieve your messages - from your telephone line and from a different telephone line. A stutter dial tone on your telephone line lets you know that you have a new message(s).

To Retrieve Messages From Your Line

1. Call 865-9100 for Mill Center
869-9100 for Oneida
822-9100 for Pulaski/Krakow

2. When the Voice Mail system answers enter your password, followed by a *.

3. Follow the instructions.

Example:
You call Voice Mail and it tells you that you have one new message. Press 5 for listen, 6 for modify, or 4 for help.

You press 5 for listen. Voice Mail will tell you the date and time the message was received.

After Voice Mail plays your message, you may press the 2 button twice to take you back to the beginning of the message. Pressing the 2 button once will take you back approximately 8 seconds.

When you are finished listening to the message, voice Mail will ask you to press 5 to keep the message, 6 for next message (if there is one), or 4 for help.

To change your outgoing message or password, press 6 to modify and follow the instructions.

To Retrieve Messages From A Different Line

1. Lift handset.

2. Call 865-9100 for Mill Center
869-9100 for Oneida
822-9100 for Pulaski/Krakow

3. When the Voice Mail system answers, press # #.

4. Enter the telephone number that you have your Voice Mail on and press *.

5. Enter your password and *.

6. Follow the Voice Mail instructions.

Once you are familiar with the Voice Mail prompts, you do not have to listen to the instructions. You may enter your selections at anytime.
